Children's Health and Maintenance Plan
(CHAMP)
To
ensure treatment for those children with caries, the CHAMP program organizes
the dental screenings in schools and makes personal family contact until any
problems are resolved. The statistical outcomes provide information on the
effectiveness of the ALQI program and are provided to the schools, used for
grant writing, and for research. In 2003 CHAMP expanded to include collection
of BMI data. In 2012 CHAMP began its busing program whereby, with parental
permission, children are picked up at school by the CHAMP bus, taken to Scott
County Dental Clinic for treatment, and returned to school.
